Safe Routes to School
Communities come alive when kids walk, bike and roll to school. Kids are healthier and ready to learn, streets are safer and less congested, the air is cleaner and neighbors work with neighbors to ensure the overall wellbeing of their children. Schools, parents and community groups across the region are working together to provide safe, fun and healthy ways for kids to get to school: walking school buses, bike trains, better crosswalks and contests and prizes to encourage participation.
Safe Routes to School programs help make walking, biking and rolling to school fun and easy for students and families. For more information, including how to find a good route to your school or volunteer, visit these sites in your town:
